Virginia Beach, VA, USA – NATO ACT (Allied Command Transformation) Training in co-ordination with M2M2 provided 15 staff members education on Academic Research Methodology. This course provided an introduction to the various research methods underpinned by the scientific approach.
It examined 20 approaches to ‘Why?’ research is conducted and then developed these through small group work towards the production of a report designed through research principles. It included a section on trials and experimentation. The application of statistics and other quantifiable approaches were paired with qualitative analysis to complete a research picture that attempts to recognise and counter bias in the presentation of a final report.
NATO’s achievements blog reported that the new approach resulted in a 50% reduction in time and resources needed to devise a real-life Experiment Design Document and Data Collection and Analysis Plan.
