This qualification is aimed at managers and those with significant responsibility for effective coaching and mentoring as part of their daily role within an organisational context. It is also ideal for individuals who wish to move into a development role or start to work as a freelance coach or mentor.

Level 5 equates to the second year of a bachelor’s degree level on the vocational framework. The qualification caters for both the strategic implementation of a mentoring programme & also develops the student as a coach or mentor.

Specific Study Units – Candidates will undertake three key areas of study
  • Understanding the Skills, Principles and Practice of Effective Coaching and Mentoring within an organisational context
  • Undertaking Effective Coaching within an organisational context
  • Reviewing Own Ability as a Coach or Mentor within an organisational context.
Programme Delivery and Duration
  • The pre-course work, the four-day taught course and the follow-up tutorials will account for approximately 50 hours
  • Personal study, assignment work, practical coaching and reflection will need to be factored into the student’s working life
  • Normally learners take 6-12 months to complete the programme. Students have a maximum of 3 years to complete.
